Raymond Richard Cox Jr. age 40 of Altus, Oklahoma died Monday, May 31, 1999.
Memorial services are scheduled for Monday, June 7, 1999 at 2:00 pm in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Capt. Kevin G. Browne officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Raymond was born May 13, 1959 in San Diego, California to Raymond Richard Cox, Sr and Janice Cox. He had loved in the Altus area since 1978 moving here from San Diego, California. Raymond entered the United States Air Force in June 1978 at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He was a recipient of the Air Force Achievement Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Air force Achievement Medal with two Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Long Tour with One Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon with One Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with four Oak Leaf Clusters. He retired as TSgt on June 30, 1998 at Altus Air Force Base. After his retirement Raymond worked for Circle K. There were many things Raymond enjoyed doing such as mountain climbing, fishing, but most of all spending time with his two sons.
Survivors include tow sons; Adam and Kyle Cox of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, his father Raymond Cox Sr. and wife Peggy of Amarillo, Texas, one brother, John Ganns, two sisters, Nettie Sparks and Linda Hampshire of California and a host of other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Janice Cox.
