Obituary for Ralph H. Holden
Ralph H. Holden, age 94, passed away on May 9, 2023 at Magnolia Creek Nursing & Therapy in Altus, Oklahoma. Grave Site Rites will be held at the Altus City Cemetery, officiating under direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Ralph was born November 20, 1928 in Gilbertsville, New York to Ralph Sr. and Charlotte (Southwick) Holden. He met the love of his life, Delilia C. May of Holmesville, New York and they were married on August 16, 1947. They made their home in New Berlin, New York.
Ralph enlisted in the Air Force on December 31, 1951 going to Sampson AFB New York for basic training. In February 1952, Ralph was assigned to Sheppard AFB, Texas and was trained as an Engine Maintenance Specialist. He spent 30 years in the Air Force, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant at Altus AFB in Altus, Oklahoma on December 31, 1981. He and his wife remained in Altus, and in July 1982 he returned to work at the Altus AFB as a Civil Service Personal. He retired with 12 years of service in July 1994.
Ralph enjoyed his family. He and his wife enjoyed traveling. He was of the Methodist faith.
Ralph is preceded in death by his parents Ralph Sr. and Charlotte Holden.
Left to honor his memory include sons Randy B. and wife Kathy of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Steven R. and wife Denise of Crestview, Florida; sister Marian F. Clark; granddaughters Angie and husband Austin, and Christina and husband Calab Adams; grandsons Joshua Holden, Jeremy and wife Jennifer; great granddaughters Brianna and Sophia; great-grandsons Orion, Rowan, and Triston; as well as many friends.
The Holden family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Lowell - Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2023 at Altus City Cemetery, Altus, Oklahoma with full military honors by The Altus Air Force Base Honor Guard.
