Obituary for Phillip Donald Marcum

Phil Marcum, age 83, of Willow, passed away at his home on May 22, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born an only child on March 8, 1941, in Sayre, Oklahoma to John Marcum and Alice Montgomery Marcum. He attended his early years of school at Berlin and his family moved to Sayre when he was in the fifth grade where he attended and graduated.

He was married to Nita Haygood on October 29, 1970. With this marriage came Sheila which he later adopted. Four years later a 4-year-old son Mike was adopted to complete our family. Phil was a farmer, a truck driver, and later a Prison Drug Counselor, until his eyes began to fail. He loved to talk, didn’t matter who it was, he always had something to say.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Nita of the home; Daughters, Susan Marstellar and husband Eddie of Oklahoma City and Sheila Henderson of Willow; Son, Mike Marcum of New Orleans, Louisiana; Grandchildren, Brittany Davies of Gas City, Indiana, Zach Stover and Emily of Altus, Oklahoma and Brandon Thompson of Altus, Oklahoma; and five Great Grandchildren.

A meet and greet with the family will be held on May 28, 2024 at Red River Cowboy Church from 2:00P.M.-4:00 P.M.
