Pete Aldape, age 65, a longtime resident of Altus, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Pete was born in Mexico on June 6, 1951 to his parents Jose and Bernice (Say) Aldape. Pete came to the United States when he was 14 and moved to Altus for work where he met the love of his life Martha Vela and they were married on July 21, 1975 and they enjoyed over 41 years of marriage together. The family lived in Florida and Altus and Pete worked for Jason Winters Construction in Altus specializing in roofing for many years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, gardening and working in his yard. Family was most important to Pete and he always treasured spending time with them.
Preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Angela Aldape; daughter-in-law, Veronica Hernandez; and his granddaughter, Veronica Hernandez; Pete is survived by his wife Martha Aldape of the home; two sons, Paul Olbera of Altus; and James Hernandez and wife Ester of Louisiana; two daughters, Deborah Hernandez of Oklahoma City; and Nikki Hernandez and husband Henry of Altus; three brothers and two sisters all of Mexico; six grandchildren, Nathan Hernandez, Niquita Basaldua, Natalie Basaldua, Savannah Hernandez, Vincent Hernandez, and Sebastian Vincent; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
