Obituary for Pete D. Miranda
Pete D. Miranda, age 77 of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and former resident of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, February 17th, 2022, at Deaconess Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Pete was born on December 4, 1944 in Adamsville, Texas to his parents Manuel Miranda and Adela De La Cruz Miranda. Pete married the love of his life, Adolfina Mendoza Miranda on April 6, 1981 and they enjoyed over 29 years of marriage together. Pete was a certified welder for over 40 years until his retirement in 2017. He lived in Texas, New Mexico, California, and Oklahoma throughout the years and he most recently had resided in Oklahoma City for the last seven years. Pete was a member of the Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing and listening to music, and working as a welder. But the most important part of Pete's life was his wife Adolfina and his family and he enjoyed spending time with family and all of his grandchildren and he will be missed very much.
Pete is preceded in death by his wife Adolfina Mendoza Miranda in 2010; his parents Manuel and Adela De La Cruz Miranda; his son, Manuel Garza Miranda; his daughter, Margaret Ann Miranda; brothers, Porfirio De La Cruz Miranda and Joe De La Cruz Miranda; and his sister Elisa Tapia.
Pete is survived by seven children, Richard Miranda and wife Liliana; Velia Limon and husband Victor; Gilbert Miranda and wife Blanca; Pete M. Miranda, Jr.; Yvonny Mendoza Miranda and husband Xavier; Adela Mendoza Miranda; Alfonso Mendoza Miranda; his brother, Gregorio Miranda; his sisters, Valentina M. Gonzales and Audelia Rodriguez and husband Ruben; twenty grandchildren, Jonathan Miranda; Ricky Miranda, Jr.; Monica Miranda; Manuel Miranda; Ashley Miranda; Elizabeth Miranda; Adam Miranda; Gilbert Miranda, Jr.; Nova Miranda; Miranda Limon; Diana Limon; Victoria Limon; Naudia Ramsey; Rianna Ramsey; Xander Cruz; Alfonso Miranda, Jr.; Sebastian Miranda; Santos Miranda; Linda Drake Miranda; and Xavier Cruz, Jr.; great grandchildren, Gilbert Miranda, III; Ayleen Miranda; Haven Miranda; and numerous other great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
Rosary services will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday evening, February 22, 2022 at the Lowell-Tims Chapel in Altus.
Funeral Mass services will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus with Rev. Fr. Joseph David officiating.
Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home, Altus.
