Obituary for Peggy Jo Ledbetter

Peggy Jo Ledbetter, 83, longtime resident of Altus, Oklahoma passed away May 8, 2020 in Vernon Texas.

Peggy was born June 5, 1936 in Ryan, Oklahoma to Virgil Clifton Armstrong and Carrie Catherine (Ball) Armstrong.

On April 5, 1980, Peggy was united in marriage to Jackie Ledbetter in Altus, Oklahoma.

She was Licensed Vocational Nurse. She worked at Chillicothe Hospital then after moving to Altus she work for home health.

Peggy had an amazing since of humor and was always keeping the family laughing. She loved to go fishing with her sister Lorene. Later on she worked the flea markets with Jackie. Peggy loved to be around people she never met a stranger.

Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother.

She enjoyed making a special lotion with secret ingredients that she would give out to her friends and family. Of all the things she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren was always her favorite.

She is survived by her husband of forty years Jackie Ledbetter, Sons; Michael Brake, and Gary Ledbetter Daughter, Peggy Fuerer, Grandchildren; Anthony Brake, Jennifer Brake, Jessica Brake, Brittany Brake, Bob Ledbetter, Jeff Ledbetter, and Ty Smith. Great – Grandchildren; Cynthia, Sidney, Savannah, Bella, Paige, Phenix, Kaleb, Trey, Alyssa, Averi, Skylar, Devon, Cierra, Robert, Lucy, Ty, and Bo, three great- great grandchild; Ensley, Anna Mae, and Prince.

Peggy was preceded in death by her father; Virgil Clifton Armstrong, Sr., Mother; Carrie Catherine Armstrong, three brothers; Virgil Clifton Armstrong, Jr., Richard Wayne Armstrong, Floyd Arlene Armstrong, Five Sisters, Georgie Lee Armstrong, Margie Patterson, Frances Lorene Mooney, Clifadale Armstrong, and Floydie Darlene Armstrong.
A public visitation will be Monday May 11, 2020 from 10:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Lowell -Tims Funeral Home, Altus, Oklahoma.
A private family graveside will be held Tuesday at Altus City Cemetery.
