Obituary for Paul Anthony Jones
Paul Anthony Jones, age 83, of Martha, passed away December 30,2002. Services are set for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 2, 2003 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Steve Orick will officiate and Harold Davis will assist. Interment will follow at the Martha Cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday, the 1st, will be limited to the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Paul was born December 24, 1919 at Tishomingo, Oklahoma to parents Henry Jones and Lulu Florence (Tallon) Jones. He attended school at Tishomingo and was united in marriage to Lillian Lavern Stephens on October 10, 1942 at Tishomingo. They enjoyed over sixty years of marriage. During this period, he farmed and drove a truck hauling Cotton Seed. In 1947, Paul and Lillian moved to Martha where he farmed. He later worked in maintenance for the City of Altus. He retired after fifteen years of service to the city. Paul was a member of the Coon Hunters Association of Oklahoma and his greatest joy was hunting with his dogs.
Paul is survived by his wife, Lillian of the home; daughters, Kathryn Jean Galle of Anchorage, Alaska and Mary Lavern Norton of Garland, Texas; son, Lannie Jones of Martha, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alene Vardin of Bell, California and Pat Mashburn of Ozark, Missouri and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wesley, James and Earl Jones; sister, Colene Blankenship.
Memorials may be made in honor of Paul to the American Diabetes Association or Leukemia Society of America.
