Obituary for Patricia Ann Beckner
Patricia Ann Luckinbill Beckner, 76, of Altus went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday morning at her home.

Pat was born on December 3, 1940, in Waterloo, Oklahoma to Dale and Rosie (Maker) Luckinbill. She had one sister, Susie Jones, and one brother, Milton Luckinbill. After she graduated from Enid High School, she married Jimmy Charles on November 8, 1958. They lived in Drummond, Oklahoma and she began her new life as a farmer’s wife. She and Jim had a custom harvesting business with one combine and one wheat truck. Jim ran the combine and Pat drove the truck. During harvest, she was allowed to go to the front of the line every time she made the 50 mile drive to the elevator as a woman driving a wheat truck was a rarity. They later moved to Olustee in 1965 where she settled in as a busy mom and wife. She spent countless hours on the farm raising Limousin cattle and farming wheat. She played the piano at the First Baptist Church of Olustee and gave piano lessons to many children she loved dearly for over 15 years. She also spent countless hours volunteering at the school, serving as 4-H leader and volunteering as class mom. She was a member of the Erolethian Club, served on the Olustee COOP Board of Directors and was recently honored as the Farm City Legends Award winner last month. Pat always had one of the most beautiful yards in town because she loved spending time outdoors gardening and mowing her lawn. In 2005, Pat moved to Altus to be closer to her children and grandchildren, who she truly adored. Her grandkids were her pride and joy and she loved attending and being present in every aspect of their lives. You could always find her ringside coaching her children and grandchildren as they showed their animals.

Pat, who was a member of the First Baptist Church of Altus, was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister. She is survived by her children Kim Abernathy and husband Clint, Kristy Abernathy and husband Tommy, Cody Beckner and wife Rachel; 8 grandchildren –Justin Abernathy and wife Amy, Jarod Abernathy and wife Jill, Jordan Coppock and husband Evan, Lindsey Dorton and husband Kyle, Lori Miller, Reed Abernathy and Morgan Robberson, Chauncey and Cayden Beckner; 11 great grandchildren – Kason, Kenzie, Kreed, Kolter, Cade, Drake, Kamden, Kollins, Mason, Blakely and Adley; one brother Milton Luckinbill and wife Linda; and many cousins and close friends.

The family of Pat Beckner will receive friends at visitation from 5:00-7:00 on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, November 6, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Altus, Oklahoma.
