Orilla Glenn died at noon Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 24, 1915, in Bryan County, Oklahoma, to Joel and Wesley and Lillie Mae Dearing Allen. She moved to Altus area with her family in 1927. She attended school at Hatcher, Blue, Hess, Pleasant Point and Porter High. She married Adrian Glenn on January 5, 1937. He died on Feb. 9, 1963. She chopped cotton, pulled boles and plowed.

Following her husband's death, she supported her youngest son, Mark, by cleaning houses, selling Avon, working at base cleaners, ironing and waitressing. She worked at McDonald's at the age of 80, but retired due to declining health.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers baseball team and her favorite players.
She enjoyed watching the Oklahoma Sooners play football, feeding the birds in her backyard, and her dog, Sandy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian; mother, Lillie Mae Allen; father, Joel
Wesley Allen; four brothers, Otis Allen, Leslie Allen, Troy Allen, and Floyed Allen; three sisters, Ella Mae Trimble, Ora Kime and Ola Pearl Allen.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry Glenn of Wilmington, NC, and Mark of Altus; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
