Obituary for Ora J. Austin
Ora Jeanette Robinson Austin was born April 16th, 1907 at Victory, OK while Oklahoma was still a Territory. She was the daughter of the late James O. and Mary Mylethea (Lindsey) Robinson. Ora's mother and father filed on a quarter section of land near Victory in 1901 and the family lived in a dug-out. Ora went to school in a one room school at Tyler until she finished the 7th grade, then finished High School in 1926 at Victory High School. She married George A. Austin December 11, 1927 and he preceded her in death July 23, 1972. She was a lifelong resident of Altus and Jackson County and a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church.

Services are scheduled for Thursday, 2:00 p.m., December 26, 1996 at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Scott Spencer officiating. Interment will be in the Victory Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

Survivors include: two sisters, Verdie Thilmont of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Velma Self of Blair, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George A. Austin, 7-23-1972; three brothers and one sister.
