Obituary for Oma (Roudebush) Sutton
Oma (Roudebush) Sutton, age 77, of Rural Route 1, Altus, Oklahoma was born January 21st, 1919, in Jackson County, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Thomas and Gussie (Daniels) Thurmond. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. Mrs. Sutton passed away Wednesday, May 8th, 1996, at her home after a lengthy illness.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 1996, in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

In 1941, she and Robewrt P. (Bob) Roudebush were united in marriage at Altus, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death January 28, 1966. She later married Garrett L. Sutton, November 1, 1971, in Altus. Oma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her husband, Garrett L. Sutton of the home; three children, Robert E. Roudebush and wife Pamela of Altus, Oklahoma, Phyllis Howard, also of Altus, Oklahoma and Terry Harris and husband Paul of Shawboro, NC; three brothers, all of Altus, Oklahoma, Harrison Thurmond, Harding Thurmond and Joseph (JC) Thurmond; four sisters, Faye Smith of Stockton, CA, Emma Mason of Glendale, CA, Martha Nichols of Olton, TX and Marie Pillow of Hobart, OK; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; one brother, John Thurmond-1945; first husband, Robert Roudebush-1966; infant daughter, Karla Roudebush - 1957.
