Ollie Florence Hatchett, age 88, of Mangum, passed away late Thursday evening, November 14, 2013, at Grace Living Center, in Mangum, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Hatchett was born in Granite, Oklahoma on December 14, 1924, to John Ollie and Lola Florence (Hughes) Allen. After attending school at Granite, On September 11, 1943, she married the love of her life, Charles Edward Hatchett and he preceded her in death on August 16, 2011, after sixty-seven wonderful years together. In the early 1970"s, they moved from Granite to Mangum where she lived until her death. A longtime member of the Primitive Baptist Church, Mrs. Hatchett enjoyed listening to Gene Autry sing to her each morning, cooking, watching all birds (especially the hummingbirds), caring for her parakeets, fishing and working in the flower beds, but most of all she loved caring for her family.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; one brother, Jackie Allen; a granddaughter, Lisa Waller, a grand son-in-law, Billy Waller, Sr. and a son-in-law, Teddy Ray Wyrick, she is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Wyrick of Mangum; three grandchildren, Stephanie Wyrick of Altus, Charles Wyrick of Tulsa and Charlotte Inge of Mangum; thirteen great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; one brother, James Ray Allen and wife Colleen of Norman and one sister-in-law, Cuba Allen of Granite along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Ollie Hatchett will be at 2 p.m., Monday, November 18, 2013, at Greer Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
