Obituary for Olinthous "Jack" Howard
Olinthous "Jack" Howard, 90, of Altus, passed away Saturday, September 16, 1995, in the Jackson County Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Jack was born February 21, 1905, in Titus County, Texas, to Olinthus and Mary Jane (Wade) Howard.
In 1925, Mr. Howard married Leona Romine in Altus. He had been a farmer, worked for Ellis Tire Milaeage for 15 years and had been a crossing guard at Will Rogers Elementary School for 17 years. Jack was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Mr. Howard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Leona; three brothers and one sister.
He is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Mozell Raley, Ninaruth Walker, and Laura and Barney Ashley, all of Altus; one son and daughter-in-law, Clarence and Bernice Ketchersid of Warren, Oklahoma; two sisters, Tom Estridge of Olney, Texas; and Sibble DeFord of Lawndale, California; fifteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
