TALLEY ROBINSON
Olevia Talley Robinson, age 96, of Altus, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday afternoon, June 21, 2014, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital, in Altus.
Mrs. Robinson was born in Madill, Oklahoma on August 2, 1917, to E.C. and Effie (Higdon) Talley. Olevia graduated from Madill High School and later attended college in Sherman, Texas. For many years she worked as an administrative assistant in the Oil & Gas and Insurance Industries in Dallas, Texas, and Duncan and Altus, Oklahoma. On December 27, 1967, she married Floyd Robinson who preceded her in death on August 24, 1995. Long-time members of the Church of Christ, she and Floyd were active in the Thomas Street Church of Christ.
Olevia was also preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Lois Talley, and her brother, Elton Talley. She is survived by her brother, Alan Talley of Federal Way, Washington and a stepdaughter, Ruth Ann Selby and her husband Don, of Dallas, Texas.
"Sug", as she was known by her family, had an especially close relationship with her nieces, Cynde Talley Holloway and her husband Kenny of Oklahoma City and their son, Jeffrey Holloway of Edmond; Alicia Talley and her husband Alan Smith of Federal Way, Washington and Ruth Talley Smith and her husband Randolph of Kingwood, Texas; and nephew, Pat Talley of Altus, and a host of other friends and relatives.
Graveside funeral services for Olevia Robinson will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at the Altus City Cemetery with Tom Bailey officiating. Services are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
