Norman Dewitt "Buddy" Dehtan, age 80, of Eldorado passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at his residence.
Buddy was born 6 1/2 miles east of Eldorado on June 27, 1934 to Alva Dewitt and Viola (Stanley) Dehtan. He attended school at Lincoln and Eldorado, graduating in 1953. Buddy joined the Army and served in Germany from 1956 to 1958. He worked for ESCO Elevators for 13 years retiring in 1976 to return to Eldorado to take over the family farm. He married the Love of his Life, Jo Ann Henson January 24, 1959 and they spent the next 56 wonderful years together! Buddy enjoyed farming and taking care of his cattle. He also enjoyed driving around and checking the oil wells South of Eldorado. His hobbies included woodworking and remodeling projects and driving and showing his 1964 Chevrolet Impala as a member of the Century Car Club of Quanah. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family especially his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a wonderful loving husband, father and PawPaw. Buddy was a member of the Eldorado First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Jo Ann, his daughter, Debbie Randolph and husband Rusty, his son Buddy Dehtan and wife Lori, all of Eldorado. Grandchildren-Lesli McAllister, Heath McAllister and wife, Sandy, Shyanne Dehtan, Dylan Dehtan, Tyler Thompson & Jessica Owens. Great grandchildren,Tyson, Weston, Quinton, Knox, Kameron, Aaron, McKenzie, Maicee, Makierra, Chance, Jase & Tyler. One sister, Jesse Faye McWatters of Moore, OK, mother-In-law, Vivion Henson of Quanah, TX, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Hubert, his sister, Alva Lee and son-In-law, James McAllister.
Visitation will be Friday, January 23, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm at the Lowell-Tims Chapel in Eldorado.
Funeral services for Norman "Buddy" Dehtan will be at 2 pm, Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the First Baptist Church, in Eldorado with Pastor Pete Wylie officiating. Interment will follow in the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus, Oklahoma.
