Monroe Harold Smith was born in Altus, Oklahoma March 10th, 1930 to William E. and Jessie Ann (Sutherland) Smith. Other than time spent serving his country with the U S Navy and U S Army during the Korean Conflict he lived in Altus, Oklahoma. He passed away August 26th, 1982 at his home.

Monroe is survived by two children, Monte Dale Smith and Melissa Debra Smith both of Altus, Oklahoma, two brothers: R. D. Smith of Fresno, California and Aubrey Smith of Los Angeles, California, two sisters: Marjorie Johnson of Hammit, California and Gwen Belmont of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Services for Monroe Harold Smith are scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Monday, August 30th, 1982 at the Tims Chapel of Memories with Rev. C. L. Abercrombie officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
