Obituary for Mollie Maeleda Roberts
MaeLeda Roberts age 85 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, April 24, 2005 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She was born March 13, 1920 in Altus, Oklahoma to Cecil Littlefield and Willie (Brawley) Littlefield.
MaeLeda had lived Altus all of her life. On April 7, 1941 in Martha, Oklahoma MaeLeda married Doyle Roberts. He preceded her in death June 11, 1956. She worked for many years as the manager of Cattlemen's Cafeteria in Altus. She also worked in sales at Wackers and Winns Department Store for several years before she retired, After MaeLeda retired she enjoyed working in her yard and cooking for her family. Her most enjoyable moments were spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Altus.
She is survived by two children, Morris Roberts and his wife Marilyn of Headrick, Oklahoma, Beverly Wilson and her husband Larry of Altus, Oklahoma; one brother Russell Littlefield and his wife JoAnn of Georgia. She is survived by her grandchildren, Misty Roberts, Jacob Wilson, Kristi Sanchez; four great-grandchildren Robert, Sarina, Sabastian, Shyanne. MaeLeda is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is also survived by her special friend Dovie Dishman of Altus, Oklahoma.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Doyle Roberts, three brothers Art, Haywood, W.C. and one sister Ruth.
funeral services for MaeLeda Roberts is scheduled for Thursday, April 28, 2005 at 2:00 pm at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funera Home.
The family will greet friends Wednesday evening April 27, 2005 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.
