Obituary for Milittie Sue Ledbetter
Sue Ledbetter, 91, longtime resident of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, November 21, at the Village on the Park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on Monday, September 23, 1929 to the Jack and Mildred (Hyde) Dennis. Sue was raised and educated in Blair, Oklahoma. She graduated high school in 1947. On July 10, 1948 Sue married the love of her life T. L. Ledbetter in Vernon, Texas. To this beautiful marriage two children were born, a daughter Carol and a son John.

Prior to the birth of her children, Sue worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Later in life she enjoyed part-time employment through the Jackson County Election Board and various in-store demo companies.

A large part of Sue's life was devoted to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Sue was very active in her church, the Altus First Baptist Church. She taught children's Sunday School in her younger years, and was an active member of her ladies’ Sunday School Class, and then the Discovery I Sunday School Class.

Volunteering and service to others were very important to Sue. She was a part of the Altus Firefighter's Wives Auxiliary, Oklahoma Blood Institute and Jackson County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Sue found great joy in caring for her family and home-cooking, baking, sale shopping and other homemaking activities. She had a close connection to extended family and devoted considerable time to both her parents and aunt during their lengthy nursing home years. One of her favorite things to do was to travel with her family to many places but her favorites were to Galveston, Texas and Floydada, Texas. Of all her hobbies and interests, her favorite was spending time with her family, they were the light of her life.

Sue is survived by son, John Ledbetter and wife, Karen, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter, Carol Loague and husband, Stacy of Norman, Oklahoma; sister, Jackie Chadwick of Floydada, Texas; three grandchildren, Stephanie Land and Jeremy, Keri Pennington and Jon, Amy Warren and Landon; three great grandchildren, Brittyn and Blakely Pennington, and Ellerie Warren; niece, Denice Payne; and nephew, Royce Chadwick.

Graveside Services for Sue Ledbetter are scheduled for 2 P.M. Wednesday, November 25, 2020, with the Pastor Doug Altom Jeff Moore, officiating at the Altus City Cemetery.
