Michael Jerome Franklin, 38, passed away at his home on June 3, 2026.
Michael was born on April 28, 1988, in Mangum, Oklahoma, to Gary Joe Franklin Sr. and Susan Faith Herriage Franklin. He grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from Healdton High School. He later attended Bacone College, where he proudly played basketball and built lasting friendships through his love of the game.
Michael earned an Associate Degree in Business from Murray State University. He was passionate about sports and turned that passion into a career by trading sports cards online. He enjoyed connecting with fellow collectors and sharing his extensive knowledge of the hobby he loved.
Michael will be remembered for his kind heart, his love for family, his passion for sports, and the impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
Michael is survived by his father, Gary Joe Franklin Sr.; his mother, Susan Faith Herriage Franklin; partner and dear friend Amanda Scott and her son Gavin. Brother, Jamiel Franklin and children Aaliyah, Jamiel, Allie, Avant, Zayden and Josiah. Brother, Joe Joe Franklin and significant other Brianna Tucker and their children Tatum and Teagan and sister Brianna Nicole Lemon and many other family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by Grandfather; Bobbie Joe Franklin and grandmother Mae Lois Brooks. Grandfather Thomas Madison Herriage and grandmother Priscilla Faith Ripley Boulay, sister-in-law Keisha Dawn Benton Uncle Frank Dwight Skinner, Aunts Wanda Mae Perry and Barbara Ann Bivins and Uncle Anthony Wade Ripley. Cousins, Andrew Johnson and Robert Hunter.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in knowing that his life touched so many people and that his legacy of love, friendship, and perseverance will never be forgotten.
