Obituary for Mary M. Garcia
Mary M. Garcia, age 73, from Olustee, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior with her family by her side on August 8, 2022 at the Mercy Hospital In Oklahoma City.
She was born on September 22, 1948 in Sterling, Illinois to Brigida Maldonado and Socorro Mesa. Later, they moved to Olustee, Oklahoma. She married Refugio Garcia in Altus, Oklahoma on December 13, 1963. She was a great housewife and a wonderful mother. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and spending time with her family. She never met a stranger. She was known to give family members and friends special nicknames. She remembered everyone's birthday and could give quote movies left and right. She will be greatly missed.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Refugio "kookie" Garcia; her parents; one grandson: Deon Poolaw; 5 siblings: Lupe Briones, Lorenzo Perez, Celia Reyes, Richard Perez and Delores Sanchez; and one nephew, Daniel Perez.
Survivors include: one brother, Robert Mesa and his wife, Cherry of Michigan; 3 daughters: Rose Garcia and her husband, Frank Pritchard Sr. of Fort Worth, Tx; Maria Garcia and Kelly Osborn of Altus, OK; and Cristina Poolaw of Olustee, OK; 4 grandchildren: Darius, Frank Jr., Jasmine and Vanessa; a nephew: Richard Lugo and his wife, Sylvia of Fort Worth; a sister-in-law: Maryann Perez of Olustee; 2 brothers- in-law: Jose Briones and Armando Reyes of Altus; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
