Obituary for Mary Josephine Noblitt

Mary Josephine Noblitt, age 89, of Mangum, passed away early Monday morning, June 3, 2013, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital, in Altus.
Mrs. Noblitt was born in Lubbock, Texas on August 25, 1923, to Frank and Nora Mae (Garton) Hendley. For a short time the family moved to Hollis and later in the mid 1930"s, they moved to Greer County. After graduating from Mangum High, Jo married Odus Eugene Long. They lived in several locations with his position in the U.S. Army. After their divorce, Jo and the children moved back to Greer County where she operated a beauty shop and later married Richard Dale Noblitt. Very active in her community, Jo was an active member of the Altus and Mangum Cancer Support Group, was a team member of Reese-Pieces Relay for Life for seven years, was a member of the American Legion Lady Auxiliary for over thirty years, was a twenty year member of RSVP Program, enjoyed serving veterans, was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and in her spare time she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, needle point, knitting and cooking.
Preceded in death by two husbands; one son, Don Long; one grand son-in-law, Andy Allen; five sisters, Geraldine Turner, Harriett Ann Sherrill, Margaret Roper, Freda Trayler and Etoyl Trayler; one brother, Cleatus Claude Trailer, she is survived by two sons, Bill Long and wife Patricia of Piedmont, Oklahoma and Ronny Eugene Long and wife Sue of Winlock, Washington; eight grandchildren, Mary Ann Allen of Ft. Mitchell, Alabama, Michael Long of Mangum, Stacey Wells and husband Michael of Shawnee, Kansas, Ryan Long of Piedmont, Lisa Long of Piedmont, Ronny Dale Long of Yukon, Shawna Long of Winlock, Washington and Danny Long of Winlock, Washington; seven great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Jo Noblitt will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Cecil Deadman officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
