Mary Earl (Talbot) Stout, age 86, of Altus, passed away Saturday morning, November 8, 2014, at English Village Manor, in Altus.
Mrs. Stout was born in Olustee, Oklahoma on May 21, 1928, to Robert Lee and Frances Elizabeth (Walls) Talbot. A graduate of Victory School, Mary married the love of her life, Clarence Raymond Stout on May 11, 1947, and he preceded her in death after sixty-five wonderful years of marriage, on October 24, 2012. Mary lived in several locations with Raymond"s jobs. Raymond taught school in Roosevelt and Hooker, Oklahoma and Pampa, Texas before joining the Civil Service. His government employment took them to Burkburnett, Texas, Alamogordo, New Mexico and San Antonio, Texas where they retired in 1981. She and Raymond moved back to Olustee where she lived until her health began to decline and she moved to English Village.
Also Preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, J.C. "Bud" Talbot and Alvis Talbot and two sisters, Dorothy Marie George and Oleta Talbot, she is survived by one daughter, Laquita Halverson and husband Shelby of Hartselle, Alabama; one son, Steven R. Stout of San Antonio, Texas; three grandsons, Bryce Halverson and wife Jessica, Brock Halverson and wife JJ and Brent Halverson and wife Ashley; great-grandchildren, Emma Kate, Laura, Orion and Logan along with many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mary loved cooking and she was a great cook. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends and cooking for them.
Funeral services for Mary Stout will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Victory Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home, in Altus.
The family will greet friends on Wednesday, prior to the service, from 10 until 11 a.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
