Martha Aldape, age 73, a longtime Altus, Oklahoma resident, passed away at her home in Altus, Saturday, October 13, 2018.
Martha was born on October 13, 1945 in Robs Town, Texas to her parents Eulogio Vela and Nicolasa (DeLacruz) Vela. As a young girl Martha and family moved to Olustee, Oklahoma and later she moved to Altus, Oklahoma where she met Pete Aldape and they were married on July 21, 1975 in Altus and they enjoyed over 41 years of marriage together before Pete's death in 2016. After getting married Martha and Pete lived in Florida for a short time and moved back to Altus where she has resided for many years. Martha worked as Certified Nurses Assistant for over 35 years at the English Village Manor in Altus. She was a member of the Salvation Army Church and Martha loved her family and took great care of them. Martha enjoyed cooking and sewing and she treasured the time spent with her family, grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband Pete; daughter, Angela Aldape; granddaughter, Veronica Hernandez; and her daughter-in-law, Nancy Vincent. Martha is survived by two sons, Paul Olbera of Altus; and James Hernandez and wife Ester of Louisiana; two daughters, Deborah Hernandez of Oklahoma City; and Nikki Hernandez and boyfriend Florentino Fisher both of Altus; one sister, Maria Gonzalez of Altus; six grandchildren, Nathan Hernandez, Niquita Basaldua, Natalie Basaldua, Savannah Hernandez, Vincent Hernandez, Sebastian Vincent, and one on the way; numerous great grandchildren; as well as many other family members and friends.
Graveside Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, October 15, 2018 at the Altus City Cemetery with Lupe Gonzalez officiating.
