Obituary for Martin Ryan Hukill
Martin Ryan Hukill, age 84, longtime Altus resident passed away Thursday, August 27th, 1998 at the Grace Living Center in Altus, Oklahoma. He was born March 29th, 1914 at Wilmington, Delaware to the late Merritt S. and Susan G. (McCallin) Hukill.

Martin entered the United States Army at Ft. Dixon, New Jersey on April 15, 1941. He served during the European Theater. On October 13, 1945 at Camp Maxey, Texas, he was discharged as a Staff Sergeant from the Army.

On January 21, 1952 in Philadelphia, PA, Martin and Sylva Fern McElroy were united in marriage. She preceded him in death April 1997. Martin lived in Altus since 1954, moving here from Philadelphia. He owned and operated Marty's Neon Sign Company in Altus for many years. Martin was a Ham Radio Operator for over 20 years. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

****Prayer Service is scheduled for Monday, August 31, 1998 at 7:00 p.m. at Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel.

***Funeral Service will be Tuesday, September 1, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Father Joseph Jacobi officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

Survivors include: nine children, Claudine and Bruce Daniel, Francis and Donna Hukill all of Snyder, OK, Susan Miller of Yukon, OK, Regina and Hobert Varney of Blair, OK, Margaret and Brian Smith of Yukon, OK, Joe and Lisa Hukill of Omaha, NE, James and Rhonda Hukill of Blair, OK, Bernard Hukill of Bedford, TX, Tim and Kim Hukill of Altus; a host of grandchildren, friends and his family at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
