Marie Ann Barton, age 52, of Altus, Oklahoma died May 9, 1988 at her home in Altus.
Marie was born June 6, 1935 in Krebs Oklahoma.
Marie Ann Barton was the daughter of the late Angela and Donato Ricci who were Italian immigrate that settled in Pittsburg County area during the early part of the twentieth century. She graduated from the Krebs Parochial School and attended Saint Johns and McAlester High Schools. Marie married Joseph L. Barton June 7, 1958. She was an Air Force wife who accompanied her husband on various assignments in the sates and the far East. Marie arrived in Altus from Francher Air Station, Japan with her husband in November 1969. She spent most of her married life in Jackson County.
Funeral services for Marie Ann Barton are scheduled for Thursday, May 12, 1988 at 2:00 pm in Tims Chapel of Memories, Altus, officiated by Chaplain, Caption David E. Wilsek. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Marie Ann Barton is survived by her husband Joseph L. Barton of the home; sons, Joey D. Barton D. Barton of the home, Louis D. Barton, Altus, daughters, Juanita Maria Smith, Gainsville, Georgia; Angela Ann Godin, West Germany; one sister, Angelina Jones, Wilburton, Oklahoma; three brothers, G. Dominic Rich, Satellite Beach Florida; John Michael rich, Krebs, Oklahoma. She has an uncle Sylvester Sellars, Krebs, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Michael Clinton Smith Gainsville Georgia; William Joseph Smith, Gainsville, Georgia; Marie died after a lengthy illness with lung cancer.
