Obituary for Maria Elena Reyna
Maria Reyna, age 71 of Altus, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016 at her home in Altus.
Maria was born in Delmita, Texas on November 18, 1945 to her parents Margarito Garcia and Ernestina (Solis) Garcia. She grew up in south Texas and married Cresencio Reyna in San Juan, Texas on January 13, 1983 and they were married for almost 33 years. They moved to Hollis, Oklahoma in 1996 and have resided in Altus since 1997. Maria was a longtime faithful member of the Templo Sinai Spanish Assembly of God Church in Altus where she was active as the president of the kitchen and president of the building fund raiser. She enjoyed listening to Christian music, helping others, cooking, taking care her church and her family, and Maria will be missed very much.
Preceded in death by her parents; one brother and one sister; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; Maria is survived by her husband, Cresencio Reyna of the home; four sons, Santiago Palomo, Jr.; Juan Jesus Palomo; Martin Palomo; and Jaime Reyna; five daughters, Paulita Salinas; Maria Angelita Garcia; Criselda Garcia; Yesenia Garcia; and Angelica Reyna; six brothers, Ruben Diaz; Jose Diaz; Andres Reyas; Lolo Diaz; Margarito Garcia, Jr., and Jesus Garcia; one sister, Estella Diaz; thirty grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and friends.
The family will greet friends at visitation from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 pm, Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel in Altus with Pastor Joe Tovar officiating. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
