Obituary for Margarita L. Sanchez

Margarita Ledesma Sanchez passed away Monday, January 31, 2011 at her home in Altus surrounded by all of her children and many other relatives. Services will be at 10:30 am Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home with Bro. Boyd Whitehead officiating. Burial will be in the Altus City Cemetery.
Mrs. Sanchez was born February 23, 1923, in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. She married Tomas Sanchez on November 23, 1942 in Laredo, Texas. Tomas and Margarita moved their family to southwest Oklahoma in 1961 where Tomas built his business, Sanchez Masonry. Mr. Sanchez preceded her in death on February 16, 1979.
Margarita was a dedicated homemaker and made sure all of family"s needs were met each day. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and reading, especially her Bible. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margarita was a true fan of the Texas Rangers, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Longhorns.
Mrs. Sanchez is survived by nine children, Tom and Golla Sanchez, Altus; Mary Jane and Fred Betancourt, Dearing, Georgia; Raymundo and Irene Sanchez, Altus; Christine and Roy Cullipher, Aiken, South Carolina; Elva Campos, Altus, Dennis Sanchez, Oklahoma City; Aldo and Karen Sanchez, Altus, Larry and Sylvia Sanchez, Corpus Christi, Texas; Gloria and Ron Lucero, Rowlett, Texas. Margarita enjoyed seventeen (17) grandchildren and twenty-four (24) great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Saturday, morning February 5, 2011 at 9:00am before the service.
