Obituary for Margaret Louise Tredway
Margaret Louise Tredway, age 79, of Altus passed away Thursday, November 13, 1997, at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born September 26, 1918 in North Portal-Saskatchewan, Canada to the late Bernard and Nellie Crippen Denniff. On November 1, 1942 she and Carman D. Tredway were united in marriage in Pecos, Texas. He preceded her in death August 24, 1979. Mrs. Tredway had been a resident of Altus for the last two years. While living in Texas she and her husband worked for the state as Foster Parents for over 65 children. In 1976 they were selected as Foster Parents of the Year. She was a member of the Eastern Star, and First United Methodist Church and the church choir.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Memorial Hill Cemetery in Austin, Texas. Local arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Survivors include children; Catherine Hess of Rifle, Colorado; George Tredway of Edgewood, Maryland; Nora Lessard of Altus, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
