GOODMAN
Maggie Ethel Goodman, age 83, of Sayre, formerly of Mangum, passed away early Monday morning, October 25, 2010, at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Mrs. Goodman was born on April 16, 1927, at White Flat, Oklahoma, to L. D. and Clora Alice (Palmer) White. After graduating from Centralvue in 1945, she helped on the family farm until she married the love of her life, Tommy Goodman, on August 12, 1950. A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Ethel managed the Mangum Mealsite for a time along with being a faithful homemaker. Baking, cooking and loving her family came only second to the love of her church and reading her Bible.
Preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, ten sisters, her husband, Tommy and their daughter, Mary Pitts, she is survived by two children, Tommy Stephen Goodman and wife Lynette of Sayre and Carrie Louise Statler and husband Bobby of Tulsa; one son-in-law, Brett Pitts of Edmond; five grandchildren, Cassey Clayman and husband Michael of Herford, Texas, Autumn Norwood and husband Philip of Stillwater, Jenny MacDonald and husband Dustin of Stillwater, Rowdy Pitts of Seiling and Kylie Pitts of Weatherford along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Ethel Goodman will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at the Mangum Church of Christ with Shane Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
