Obituary for Lynn M. Tims
Lynn M. Tims was born September 28th, 1908 at Mangum, Oklahoma to Frank B. and Edna (Callen) Tims. He attended both Texas and Oklahoma Schools. He moved to Altus from Amarillo, TX in 1927, where he worked for Seal and Blackstone Plumbing Company.
He married Fern Maley October 7, 1928 in Tipton, OK. They moved to Oklahoma City and he worked for Wilson and Co. in the Engineering Department. In early 1946, they returned to Altus upon the death of his father, Frank B. Tims, where he was associated with his brother Roy, in the Funeral Home business.
In later years he worked for the Civil Service at Altus Air Force Base until he retired. He served
two, two-year tours; one at Eilson AFB at Fairbanks, AK and the other at Clear AFB in Clear, AK.
Mr. Tims was a member of the First Baptist Church of Altus. He became a Christian at an early age.
Services will be held Friday, at 2:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Burial will be in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife Fern and four daughters, Joyce Tims of Altus, Oklahoma, Lynette Jackson of Seguin, TX, Karen Barker of Indianopolis, IN and Susan Meeks of Oklahoma City, OK.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by: his father; his mother; one brother; one sister; one granddaughter and two grandsons.
