Obituary for Luther "Luke" Gallop
Luther "Luke" Gallop, 86, passed away Sunday, Aril 2, 1995, in the Altus House Nursing Home. Luke was born August 9, 1908, in Hageye, Missouri to Albert Newton and Ada (Boyd) Gallop.

On November 25, 1930, he and Ada Masters were united in marriage in Harmon County, Oklahoma. They lived and farmed in the Gould area until 1955 when they moved to Altus. Mr. Gallop owned the Dairy Mart until the mid 1970's hen he retired. He raised Shetland Ponys and was easily recognized as the driver of the "Luke Fargo and Company Overland Stage" in most area parades.

Mr Gallop was a member of the Thomas Street Church of Christ. Luke was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Cleo and Herman Gallop.

He is survived by Alma, his wife of 64 years; two children Bob Gallop of Edmond, Oklahoma and Yvonne Murray of Stony Creek, Ct.; one brother, A.N. Gallop of Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Bertha Mae Duvall of Hollis, Oklahoma; as well as five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
