Obituary for Lucy Hazel Jones
Hazel Jones, 75, long time resident of Altus died at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Services are set for Friday at the Emmanuel Baptist Church officiated by the Reverend Boyd Whitehead, The Reverend William Davis, and the Reverend Will Stricklen. Burial will be in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jones was born October 16, 1915 in Caddo County, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of E.A. and Violet Kennedy. She was a graduate of Porter High. She was an active Sunday School teacher until failing health. She married Joseph C. Jones on April 13, 1933.
Mrs Jones is survived by her husband, Joseph C. Jones, Altus, Oklahoma; children Joyce Stricklen, San Antonio, Texas, Carole Duncan, Altus, Oklahoma; one brother J.W. Kennedy, Lawton, Oklahoma; sisters, Verdell Draper, Ft. Worth, Texas; Estelle Woodall, Altus, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Gail Stricklen, Debra Stricklen, both of Dallas, Texas; the Reverend William Stricklen, Denver, Colorado; Kyle Duncan of Altus, Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Samara Stricklen, Denver, Colorado.
