Obituary for Lou Fern Hollaway
Lou Fern Hollaway, age 88, passed away March 4, 2004 in Pell City, Alabama. Lou was born August 3, 1915 at Blair, Oklahoma, to Harve and Bertha (Isham) Rose. Lou and John Hollaway were united in marriage on February 25, 1934 in Blair, OK.
Lou was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Blair, she taught primary class for many years. She loved to garden and worked at Knox Hardware. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County until moving to Alabama to be near her daughter two years ago.
Lou is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by two sons, John Harvey Holloway and wife Janace of Sandy, Utah and Ewell Lynn Hollaway of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one daughter, Arela Overton and her husband Tommy of Pell City, Alabama; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Blair First Baptist Church officiated by Rev Randy Mitchell. Burial will follow at the Restlawn Cemetery. The Hollaway family will receive their friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
