Obituary for Lona M. Hoppe
Lona M. Crow Hoppe, age 76, of Altus, Oklahoma, was born March 2nd, 1920 in Rural Altus, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Martin and Amy (Barrett) Schroeder. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. Mrs. Hoppe passed away Monday, November 4th, 1996, in the English Village Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 7, 1996, in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Burial will be in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

In November of 1939, she and George "Ted" Riley were united in marriage at Mangum, OK. He preceded her in death, May 15, 1975. She later married H. H. Crow, Sr. on October 10, 1980, at Altus, OK; he preceded her in death on June 10, 1991. And then on February 25, 1993, she and Charley L. Hoppe were married at Altus, OK. Lona was a bookkeeper and a homemaker her entire life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church; an active member of the Daffodil Flower Club, the Order of Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron and Altus Garden Council.

Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Cancer Division.

Survivors include: her spouse, Charley L. Hoppe of the home; three brothers, Donald R. Schroeder of Hobart, OK, Billy M. Schroeder of Anaheim, CA and Carl M. Schroeder, Jr. of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Loreta Black of Altus, OK and Dorris Dove of Ravia, OK; one step-son, Herchel Crow of Altus, OK; four step-daughters, Pauline Morgan of Oklahoma City, OK, Pat Stearman of Gillette, WY, Ruth Kizziar of Altus, OK and Rieta Selberg of German Town, TN; 13 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; one niece, Myrita Sue Schroeder and one infant niece.
