Lola E. Wilson Lillard
Lola E. Wilson Lillard was welcomed home by the Lord June 23, 2000. Born February 8, 1908 in Hubbard, Texas. She was the fourth of eleven children born to0 John and Mamie Spruiell, who later moved their family to Jackson County, Oklahoma
She faithfully served God in her role as Wife, Mother, "Granny" and friend. She will be remembered for her compassion , strength, understanding, words of wisdom and love of family and church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands: A. D. Wilson, Wally Foreman and Ed Lillard; two daughters, Lynell May and Charlie Houch Today; and one grandson, Lynn Ball. She leaves to cherish her memories one sister, Sue Boen; one sister-in-law, Bobby Spuiell; two daughters, Durlene Nall and Mary Monique; nine grandchildren, Dalene May Tegmeyer, Ron and Lynn Ann May, Lana Nall Thorpe, Brenda Houch Price and Joel Houck,
Sharon, Shelle and Shaw Shanklin; 15 Great Grandchildren, Marlene May, Ashley and Dana Newcomer, Ryan and Lance Richardson, Keith Adams ad J. J. Price, Joey Lynn Houck, Megan Sanklihn, Tamara, Alisa, Tabatha, Andrea, Tyler and Jonathan Sanklin and 3 great-great-grandchildren, Nicole, Megan and Skylor.
In her many years as an Altus resident Lola blessed and touched the lives of her sisters of the Eastern Star and the congregations of the Baptist churches as a gifted pianist and Sunday School Teacher.
She was a skilled seamstress at several local dress shops and especially loved to sew for her children and grandchildren.
1 Thessalonians 4:17 "Goodbyes are the law of earth; Reunions are the law of heaven. Praise be to God, Whom She now sees."
Graveside services are scheduled for Monday, June 26, 2000 at 10:30 AM at the Altus City Cemetery with Rev. Boyd White4head officiating. Services are under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
