Lois Maxine Pittock, age 94, a resident of Mangum since 1994 and formerly a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, passed away Friday, June 4, 2010, at Quartz Mountain Medical Center.
Mrs. Pittock was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, cooking, canning her own fruits and vegetables, and especially loved shopping. Lois was born August 29, 1915 in Almena, Kansas to Adrain Adair and Maggie Evelyn (Reever) Abbott. She was married in Colorado Springs on April 1, 1933 to Harold Wolverton. After the passing of Harold, she married Carl L. Pittock on December 18, 1943 in Colorado Springs. She was a member of Church of God in Mangum and was a longtime member of the First Assembly of God Church in Colorado Springs where she served as President of Women's Missionary Group, was a Sunday School Teacher and Missionette leader. She is survived by her three sons: Jerry (wife, Gladys) Wolverton of Corning, California; Charles (wife, Esther) Pittock of Fort Collins, Colorado; Edwin Pittock of Denver, Colorado; and her daughter: Renata (husband, David) Caley of Mangum. She has ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of loving friends and family. Lois was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; one brother, and two sisters.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 7 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel in Colorado Springs, Colorado with Rev. Gary Lipich officiating.
