Leroy "Jack" Jackson
June 4th, 1942 - July 21st 2020
Leroy was born on June 4th, 1942 to Melchisedec and Lillie Mae Jackson. The first of 12 children born to this couple he spent his formattable years in his hometown of Brooksville Oklahoma until the family moved to Altus Oklahoma during his teenage years where he attended Lincoln High school. In 1960 Leroy joined the U.S. Navy. After completing his obligation to the military, he returned to Altus where in 1968 he started his career as a fire fighter as a civil serviceman on Altus Air Force Base where he would remain until his retirement in 1993. After retirement Leroy was a dedicated employee for Altus Storage and Car Wash until he moved to Joplin Missouri in 2003 until he was called home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Wife Sylvia Jackson, 2nd wife Esther Jackson, a sister, Ozetta Smith and a brother Melchisedec Jackson.
He leaves behind his wife Laura Ann Fields-Jackson of Joplin Missouri, one daughter Kristi McGee(Terry) of Lawton Oklahoma, four sons Kevin Jackson Tulsa Oklahoma, Tierre Fields , Jarvis Fields Oklahoma City Oklahoma, Tristan Fields Tulsa Oklahoma. 5 brothers Bobby and wife Zelma Jackson of Midwest City, Okla., Lonnie of Altus, Ark., Henry Jackson of Oklahoma City and James and wife Brenda Jackson and Willie and Robbie Jackson, all of Amarillo; four sisters, Marie Johnson of Fort Worth, Bettie Nubine of Altus, Okla., Maudie and husband John Chandler and Delois and husband Kermit Baker, all of Amarillo Tx; a brother-in-law, Lamont Smith sister in law Martha Jean Jackson of Amarillo Tx.. 19 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm, Monday, August 3, 2020 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel in Altus with Elder Willie Jackson will be officiating.
