Obituary for Lela A. Weaver
Lela Ann Weaver,77, longtime resident of Mangum, Oklahoma former resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away December 9, 2021, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma.
Lela was born November 12, 1944, in Crawford, Nebraska to Bernard Ivan (Red) Rising and Viola Edna (Barker) Rising. She was raised and educated in Crawford, Nebraska. Lela graduated from Crawford High School.
On July 28, 1964, she married Donnie Leonard Weaver in Nebraska. Donnie passed on August 16, 1996 after thirty two years of marriage. The Weaver family was blessed with three children, Donnie, Randy, and Karen. They made their home in several places, including Colorado for many years, prior to returning home to Mangum, Oklahoma.
Lela loved to read inspirational books and stories. She always was willing to help anyone that she could. She treasured her family, children, and friends. She embraced and loved every moment that she could spend with them.
Left to honor Lela’s memory are her son, Randy Weaver and wife Tabatha, daughter, Karen (Weaver) Smith and husband Robert; grandchildren, Whitney Shaw, Randy Paul Weaver, Kiegha Weaver, Robert Smith, Amber Smith, Donnie Weaver, Lindsey Weaver, Shelby Weaver, Jordon Weaver, brother, Jr. Barker and wife Ellen; Sisters, Lillian Grimm, and Carol Stull. She loved each member of her family including her nieces, nephews, and friends. While they are not listed each held a special place in her heart.
Lela was preceded in death by her husband Donnie Weaver, Sr., father, Bernard Ivan (Red) Rising; Mother, Viola Edna Barker; son, Donnie Leonard Weaver, Jr., sister, Bea Semroska, brother in law Wes Stull.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2021, at Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma, interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery where she buried next her beloved husband, Donnie Weaver, Sr.
