Obituary for Laura Martina Stephenson
Mrs. Laura Stephenson, age 79, 1200 E. Ash, died Friday evening at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services have been set for 10:00 A.M., Monday at the Lowell Memorial Chapel, officiated by the Reverend C.C. Gober and assisted by the Reverend David Clewell. Burial will be in Altus City Cemetery under direction of Lowell Funeral Home.

Born February 9th, 1900 in Thackerville, OK, she was married in 1917 to the late Sterling Bearden. They had moved in 1926 to the Friendship Community. He died in 1960. In 1963 she was married in Vernon, Texas to the late Edward Stephenson who died in 1975. She was a member of the Friendship Methodist Church.

Survivors include: one son, Maxie Bearden of Hollis; three daughters, Veta Busby of Altus, Lucille Sconyers of Snyder, TX and Ruby Townsend of Yukon, OK; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

A son, Leonard Bearden, preceded her in death in 1970.
