After a courageous battle with cancer, Kristi Rae Kidwell left this world to be with her Father in Heaven on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 while surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Kristi was born April 3, 1970 in San Antonio, TX to Jon and Billye (Lowe) Kidwell. The family moved to Altus in 1979 where Kristi attended Altus Public Schools. She graduated from Altus High in 1988. She continued her education by attending Western Oklahoma State College. During her teenage years, she was very involved in Leah's School of Dance, both as a student and as Leah's assistant. She was a participant in the Miss Altus Pageant and attended the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute in Modern Dance.
Kristi moved to Ocala, Florida in the early 1990's, relocating to the Dallas, Texas area in 1996. She worked for Kimberly Stovall and Associates before becoming a legal assistant for Carlock & Gormley, LLP where she was a treasured member of their staff since September of 2001.
She was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. Kristi was an exceptional individual with the God given gift of making others happy. She always had a smile and was ready to help others. After her initial illness, Kristi completed training to become a volunteer for Grace Hospice of Plano, Texas.
Kristi was preceded in death by her brother, Jon Kidwell, Jr., her grandparents, Jim and Evelyn Lowe and Bud and Kay Kidwell and her godfather, Jack Carothers.
She is lovingly survived by her parents, Jon and Billye Kidwell of Altus, Oklahoma; two sisters, Jill Kidwell of Carrollton, Texas and Dawn Kidwell Buentello and her husband Jaime of Altus; one nephew Jacob Kidwell of Altus, who was the light of her life, and his expected brother or sister. Also surving is her godmother, Joyce Carothers of San Antonio, Texas and her aunt, Barbara Uhl and cousins, Jim Uhl, Lisa Evers, Kimberley McKenna and Susanna Nash, all of California. She also leaves many great aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss her greatly.
