Kevin Walker, 56 year old Altus resident, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 at his home in Altus.
Kevin was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on September 10, 1960 to his parents James Rodrick Walker and Daisy Marie (O"Kelly) Walker. Growing up Kevin lived in Washington State until the family settled in Temple, Oklahoma where Kevin graduated class of 1977 from Temple High School. Shortly after high school he joined the United States Army and served his country for twenty-three years achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was stationed mainly in Germany with his last duty station being in California where he received his retirement orders. After the Army Kevin moved back home to Temple and lived in Hobart for a short time where he worked for the Kiowa County Sheriff with the K-9 detachment. He later moved to Altus and worked as a Deputy Sheriff for Jackson County. With his health starting to decline, Kevin most recently worked at the Jackson County Jail. Kevin had a lifelong love of German Shepherds and he always enjoyed being outside, hunting and fishing, and archery.
