Kelly Denise Johnson, age 50, of Altus, passed away Saturday morning, August 2, 2014, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital, in Altus.
Kelly was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on July 22, 1964, to Earl Allen and Norma June (Brittain) McKee. Moving to Altus in 1967, Kelly attended Roosevelt Elementary, Southeast Junior High and Altus High School. While in high school, Kelly was a member of KAY Club, was a Mat Maid and an honor student. Following graduation, Kelly became a certified nurse"s aide and worked for many years at the Altus House Nursing Home and Jackson County Memorial Hospital. In her spare time, Kelly enjoyed drawing, walking and running, but most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and other family members. Kelly was also a loving daughter who devoted many days and hours caring for her mother whom she dearly loved.
Preceded in death by her father, Earl McKee, one brother, Rod McKee and her step-father, Bob Jones, she is survived by her mother June Jones of Altus, two daughters, Haley Johnson of Altus and Cassie Johnson of Altus, two brothers, Scotty McKee of Altus and Mitch McKee of Altus; three grandchildren, Jadon Holmes, Austin Adams and Charli Ann Adams; her former husband and the father of her daughters, Charlie Johnson of Altus, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Anna and John Johnson along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial services for Kelly Johnson will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at the Tabernacle Baptist Church with Associate Pastor Daniel Blehm officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to the American Juvenile Diabetes Association in memory of Kelly Johnson.
