Kathy was born in Shamrock, Texas on October 13, 1957 to her parents Kenneth Ray Wright and Atha Mae (Smith) Wright. Kathy was raised in Warren, Oklahoma and she was a proud graduate of the class of 1975 from Navajo High School. On November 4, 1978 Kathy married the love of her life Bobby Burrows at the Wright family home in Warren and they have enjoyed over 41 years of marriage together. Kathy worked as a nurse for many years and she worked at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus in labor and delivery and the Midwest City Hospital in the oncology department for over twenty years and for the last several years Kathy worked as a hospice nurse. Kathy enjoyed antiquing and going to casinos with her sister Brenda. Kathy loved her daughter Amber very much and she always took great care of her and stayed active helping Amber with her Special Olympics activities. Kathy loved her husband and their daughter and all of her family and she will be missed very much.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents Kenneth Ray and Atha Mae Wright; father-in-law, John Earl Burrows; brother-in-law, Benny Dean Burrows; brother-in-law, Tony Guthrie; brother-in-law, Brian Dunn; sister-in-law, Barbara Burrows; and her nephew, Dean Leaf.
Kathy is survived by her husband Bobby Burrows and her daughter Amber Burrows of their home in Del City; mother-in-law, Imogene Burrows Moran of Altus; her brother, Jimmy Wright and wife Valorie of Warren; her two sisters, Delynn Anderson and husband Kenneth of Blair; and Brenda Guthrie of Mustang, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews, Kandi Couts and husband Charlie; Kenneth Cargal; Justin Jones and wife Danyale; Sean Burrows and wife Erica; Nicole Faircloth and husband Jo; Nicole Hutchinson; John Levi Burrows and wife Samantha; Amanda Wright; Walter Wright; Brentley Dean Burrows; and Ashley McNear; great nieces and nephews; as well as numerous other family members and many friends.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, August 14, 2020 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Chapel with Reverend Donald Altom officiating.
Interment will follow at the Warren Cemetery in Warren, Oklahoma under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus.
Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Special Olympics or to the Warren Cemetery Fund in remembrance of Kathy Burrows.
