Obituary for Katherine Dobbins Pitts
Katherine "Katie" Pitts, age 86 of Mustang, Oklahoma, formerly of San Diego, California and Altus, Oklahoma, passed Thursday, August 6, 2020 at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Katie was born in Altus, Oklahoma on December 30, 1933 to her parents John and Hazel (Whorton) Dobbins. Katie grew up in southwest Oklahoma and graduated from Eakley High School. After high school she married Donald Pitts and they resided in Hydro, Oklahoma while raising their family. Later Katie started her career as a social worker for the Department of Human Services and lived in Oklahoma City. After retirement Katie moved to San Diego, California where she lived for several years until she moved to Mustang, Oklahoma to be closer to family. Katie loved art and arranging flowers and she became a certified flower arranger. She also had a gift for writing poetry and Katie always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and one sister; Katie is survived by her son Jeff Pitts and his wife Kristin of New Castle, Oklahoma; and her daughter, Donna Meiers and her husband Don of Michigan; two brothers; one sister; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus.
