Obituary for Julia Evelyn Price
Julia "Evelyn" Price, 92 resident of Altus, Oklahoma passed at June 3, 2020 at Magnolia Creek Nursing Center in Altus, Oklahoma. On August 2, 1927 in Willow, Oklahoma Evelyn was born to Frank Herring Dutton and Alma Belle (Williams) Dutton. She was the only child to Frank and Alma Dutton, Evelyn was raised in Brinkman and Mangum, Oklahoma. She attended and graduated from Mangum High School in 1945. A few months following her high school graduation on September 19, 1945 in Mangum, Oklahoma Evelyn was united in marriage to Charles Robert Price, in Mangum, Oklahoma. They were blessed with two daughters Shirley, and Jan.
In 1966 the Price family was transferred to Altus, Oklahoma. In 1968 the Price family joined the Emmanuel Baptist Church. To Evelyn this was the start of a whole new family for her and Charles. Her life revolved around church and her church family. To say Evelyn was active in her church would be a huge understatement. She was always in a working with the women ministry, teaching sunday school, and serving on countless committees and groups to help serve her church and its members. Evelyn was known as a quiet but a servants heart, always helping others in her family, her church, or people around town. She taught herself how to play the piano and would play "specials" on Sunday morning. Evelyn enjoyed piano music, working in flower beds, camping and enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
She was greeted at the gates of heaven by her husband of fifty four years, Charles Robert Price, parents, Frank Herring Dutton and Alma Belle (Williams) Dutton,
Left to honor her memory are her daughters; Shirley Brazeal and husband Jimmie of Sanford, Texas, Jan Duke of Tulsa, Oklahoma, five grandchildren, Rowena McKinney and husband Tracy, Laquita Andrews and husband Damon, Tony Graham and wife Judy, Holly Sherwin, Blake Sherwin and wife Rebecca, fifteen great - grandchildren, and two great - great grandchildren, and her church family at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Altus, Oklahoma.
*****Funeral services for Evelyn Price have been scheduled for Monday, June 8, 2020 at Lowell - Tims Funeral Home, with Reverend Brent Logan officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery in Mangum, Oklahoma. Lowell - Tims Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
