Obituary for Joy Wilson
Joyce "Joy" (Northington) Wilson, born June 12, 1926, on a farm southeast of Altus, went gently into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, March 19, 2021. Perhaps she is singing her favorite song, "Great is His Faithfulness!" She was preceded in death by her parents Jackson Coy and Lucy Northington, a sister Chessa Vines, and her husband, Warren B. Wilson. Her family feels certain that Warren played harmonica for her entrance through Heaven's gate! She attended Humphreys Schools and graduated Altus High School and Oklahoma A&M College. She leaves behind two children, Brent (Becky), McKinney, Texas; and Jone Gittinger (Bruce), Cape Charles, Virginia; grandchildren include, Amanda Tabor (Josh), Alexis Wilson, Ben Gittinger, Joe Gittinger, Shelley and Laura Loy, and Stephanie Gittinger; and one great grandson, Braxton Tabor; one sister, Pat Montgomery and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to FBC, Altus, Building Fund.
Private family funeral services will be held with Pastor Doug Altom officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
