Obituary for Joy Ray Reser Etheridge
Joy Rae Reser Etheridge age 64 of Altus, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 1997 at the Englis Village Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Joy was born December 11, 1932 at Snyder, Oklahoma to the late Ray Reser and Orpah (Milton) Reser. Joy attended school at Snyder, after graduation she continued her education in Oklahoma City and Chickasha. She taught piano for many years, and worked Civil Service for over 30 years at Altus Air Force Base.

Joy and Neil Etheridge were united in marriage August 27, 1951 at Snyder, Oklahoma. Joy was a longtime member and Past President ABWA and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, May 23, 1997 at 10:00am at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Sonny Tims officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery at Snyder, under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband Neil Etheridge of the home, children Mike Etheridge and Sheryl of Altus, Oklahoma, Terry Lynn Riley and Thom of Glenville, New York, bother Tom Reser and wife Ione of Almagorgdo, New Mexico, 6 grandchildren; Jason Etheridge of Altus, Oklahoma, Michelle Etheridge of Altus, Oklahoma, Melissa Etheridge of Altus, Oklahoma, Ian Riley of Glenville, New York, Makenzie Riley of Glenville, New York.

Preceded in death by her parents, baby brother Johnny Reser.
