Joy Nell Richardson Freeman died May 6, 2014, at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
She was born December 9, 1933, in Oklahoma to the late John A. and Virgie (Wood) Richardson.
She married Johnny Freeman September 9, 1985, in Eldorado, Oklahoma. Joy had served as church treasurer and pianist at the First Methodist Church in Eldorado, Oklahoma. She had served as the City Clerk of Eldorado, and was a teller at the First State Bank of Eldorado. She also owned and operated Joys Department Store in Eldorado. Joy loved flowers, gardening, sewing, playing the piano and the accordion.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy Rumbo, three brothers, John Doyle, Hardy Ray and Carrol Richardson and by a son-in-law Jimmy Weathers.
Joy is survived by husband, Johnny Freeman of Eldorado, three children, Johnny Lynn and Lori Freeman of Altus, Mark and Linda Rumbo, of Hutchinson Kansas, and Marcia Weathers Eldorado, Oklahoma, six grandchildren, Carlie Rumbo, of Enid, Oklahoma, Brandi Montgomery, of Wichita Kansas, Jason McQuiggan, of Eldorado, Kris and Kelli McQuiggan, Altus, Shawnna and Jerimy Pence, of Olustee, Oklahoma, Forrest and Christina Weathers, of Headrick, Oklahoma and seventeen great grandchildren.
The family will greet friends Thursday, May 8, 2014, from 6 until 8 pm at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Eldorado, Oklahoma. Services for Joy Nell Freeman are scheduled for 10 am Friday, May 9, 2014, in the First Methodist Church Eldorado, officiated by Rev. Bobby Jones. Interment will follow in the Eldorado Cemetery, Eldorado, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home, Altus, Oklahoma.
