Obituary for Joseph Lamar Jackson
Joseph Lamar Jackson, Oklahoma City resident, formerly of Dallas, TX. and Altus, OK, passed away on October 24, 2021, at the age of 50.

Joseph was born on July 24, 1971, to his parents, Arthur Jackson Sr., and Rebeca Raiden Crosby. He grew up in Altus mainly, but also had ties in Texas, having lived in Dallas and Amarillo. Joseph also stayed in Ardmore, OK where he studied mechanics at a vocational school. In addition to being a mechanic, Joseph was also an avid chef and worked for the Michelin Tire Plant in Ardmore.

When he wasn't working, he enjoyed rapping, dancing, making music and always had his music box with him. He really liked working with his hands and had a knack for tinkering with or fixing broken things. On a deeper level, Joseph loved his family and friends, particularly, his precious children; sons: Joetavious, Joseph Jr., Jo'Sean and daughters: Josephine, Ayanna and Ya' Sheeka, who all bear the Jackson name. Joseph was an entertainer by nature and brought smiles, laughter, and positive energy to the people around him. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Joseph was preceded in death by his mother, Rebeca Raiden Crosby; his brother: Robert Crosby Jr.; one sister: Ayanna Jackson; one brother: Corey Jackson; his maternal grandparents: Cecil and Christine Raiden; his paternal grandparents: Shawnee and Dorothy Mae Jackson, and his uncle, Carl Raiden.

He is survived by his father, Arthur Jackson Sr.; his sons: Joetavious Jackson, Joseph Jackson Jr., and Jo'Sean Jackson; his daughters: Jospehine Jackson, Ayanna Jackson, and Ya'Sheeka Jackson; bothers: Datrille Crosby of Miami, FL; Cicel Crosby (Tiffany) of Tulsa, Ok; Kenneth Jackson of Colorado; Lamont Jackson of Texas, Christopher Jackson, Arthur Jackson Jr., Malcolm Thomas, all of California; Michael Thomas and Oscar Johnson of Colorado. Sisters: Deannia Sherman of Oklahoma City, OK; Arquetta Armstrong and Kimberly Jackson of Denver, CO; Tracy Thomas Mayfield of Irving, TX and Sierra Jackson of Oklahoma City, OK. Also, a special niece, Falynn Adams of Altus, OK; a special nephew, Jeffery Shepherd Jr; Special Aunt, Gwendolyn Raiden-Hands of Killeen, Tx; Special cousin, Yves "Monte" Raiden of Oklahoma City, OK; a bonus mother, Laverne Jackson of Dallas, TX and a host of other relatives and friends.


A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday November 13, 2021 at Lowell - Tims Funeral Home Chapel, Altus, Oklahoma
