Joseph was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on September 27, 1938 to Cleo Samuel Creecy and Emmie Garrett Creecy. He was a devout Catholic whose faith guided his life and the way he treated others. His commitment to God was evident in his kindness, humility, and the steady example he set for everyone who knew him.
A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Joseph honorably served his country aboard the USS Ernest G. Small for three years and five months. following his discharge from the Navy he enlisted into the United States Army, where he served as a military Police Officer. He was a second generation law enforcement officer. His time in the military was a source of great pride, and he carried the values of duty, discipline, and loyalty with him throughout his life. Above all else, Joseph loved his family deeply. He was married to the love of his life, Estella, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, devotion, and unwavering partnership. Their marriage was a testament to love, faith, and commitment.
Joseph will be remembered for his strong faith, his dedication to his country, and the deep love he had for his family. His presence will be greatly missed, but the values he lived by and the love he gave will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife Estella Ruth Creecy, his parents, Cleo Creecy and Emmie Garrett Creecy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Altus, Oklahoma, with interment to follow at Altus City Cemetery, Altus, Oklahoma.
